Skin Booster Treatment in Singapore: Achieve Dewy Glowing Skin

Skin booster (水光针) is an anti-ageing treatment that involves the precise injection of hyaluronic acid into the skin. This procedure aims to enhance overall skin hydration, improve firmness, and promote a natural, healthy radiance. As we age, our skin naturally loses collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid, leading to dryness and reduced elasticity. Skin boosters offer a way to replenish this lost hydration from within.

Why Skin Booster Treatment Is Popular

Skin booster treatment has gained significant popularity as a minimally invasive option for skin rejuvenation, appreciated for its ability to deliver natural-looking enhancements. Unlike treatments that focus on altering facial volume or structure, skin boosters work to improve the skin’s inherent qualities, resulting in a subtle yet noticeable rejuvenation.

The treatment utilises stabilised hyaluronic acid, a biocompatible substance with a unique molecular structure that excels at attracting and retaining moisture deep within the skin’s layers. This deep hydration can be particularly beneficial for individuals experiencing dehydrated skin, a common concern exacerbated by Singapore’s humid climate, where, despite external moisture, the skin’s internal hydration levels may be compromised. Furthermore, skin boosters are versatile and can be used to treat various areas beyond the face, including the neck and hands, which often show early signs of ageing.

How Does It Work?

Skin booster treatment achieves deep hydration and skin rejuvenation through a series of precise micro-injections that deliver hyaluronic acid directly into the dermis, the middle layer of the skin, at a depth of approximately 1-2 millimetres.

Hyaluronic acid is a powerful humectant, meaning it has the ability to attract and retain water molecules, effectively binding moisture within the skin, helping to create a hydrated and plump appearance.

Additionally, it doubles as a skin tightening treatment—the micro-injuries caused by the injections themselves can stimulate the body’s natural collagen production, contributing to improved skin texture and firmness over time. This dual action of direct hydration and collagen stimulation leads to a revitalised and more youthful complexion.

What Are the Benefits?

"One session of skin booster treatment is equivalent to applying 2000 pieces of masks on our face."

Am I Suitable for Skin Booster Treatment?

Skin boosters are versatile treatments suitable for a diverse range of individuals seeking skin rejuvenation beyond the scope of basic skincare routines. While a personalised consultation is essential to determine individual suitability and tailor the treatment plan, skin boosters can be particularly beneficial for:

  • Individuals with Dehydrated Dry Skin: If you experience persistent dryness, dehydration, or a tight sensation in your skin, even with regular moisturiser use, skin boosters can provide deep, lasting hydration from within, combating the effects of Singapore’s humid yet often dehydrating environment.
  • Individuals with Early Signs of Ageing: Skin boosters can effectively address the initial signs of ageing, such as fine lines, crepiness (thin, finely wrinkled skin), and a loss of youthful plumpness by replenishing hydration and stimulating collagen production.

However, skin booster treatment might not be suitable for individuals with active skin inflammation or infections in the treatment area, a known allergy to hyaluronic acid, or those who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Our team in our aesthetic clinic will conduct a thorough assessment to ensure your safety and the efficacy of the treatment.

Skin booster treatments are versatile and can be effectively used to rejuvenate various areas prone to dryness and showing signs of ageing:

  • Face: This is the most common treatment area, targeting overall hydration, fine lines, and skin radiance for a revitalised complexion.
  • Neck: Skin boosters can address dryness, crepiness, and fine lines that often appear on the neck, leading to a smoother and more youthful appearance.
  • Décolletage: The delicate skin on the chest area, often exposed to sun damage, can benefit from the hydrating and rejuvenating effects of skin boosters, reducing fine lines and improving texture.
  • Hands: Skin on the hands can become thin and dehydrated with age, revealing wrinkles and loss of volume. Skin boosters can replenish moisture and improve the skin’s overall appearance.
Skin booster treatment is performed by multiple micro-injections of the products into our skin. It can be done by either manual hand injection or by an injector gun (水光枪). Topical numbing cream is applied for 20 min before the treatment starts. Treatment duration is around 45 minutes.
Skin booster needs to be performed once every 3-4 weeks for a total of 3-4 sessions to get the best result. Subsequent treatments are performed every 6 months as maintenance.

The result can last between 9-12 months.

Practically anyone is a candidate for skin booster treatment since everyone needs improved skin hydration and collagen stimulation. However, it is particularly useful for patients with dry, dull-looking and ageing skin. A patient with superficial depressed acne scars will see improvement as well.

Injection-related side effects such as redness, swelling, needle marks, and skin bumpiness are common and typically will subside within 24 hours. Bruising may sometimes occur as well and ice packs can resolve it in a short time.
